AERO Chocolate Granola Bars

A hearty and delicious snack for the busy family on-the-go!

 

 

You will need:

4 (42 g) AERO bars 4
1 1/2 cups each puffed rice cereal and quick oats 375 ml
1/2 cup flaked coconut 125 ml
1/3 cups shelled sunflower seeds 75 ml
1/2 cup honey 125 ml
1/4 cup butter 50 ml
1/3 cup peanut butter 75 ml

Tools Required:
13 x 9 inch (3.5 L) baking pan, saucepan

Step 1:
Coat baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Combine chocolate, cereal, oats, coconut, and sunflower seeds in large bowl.

Step 2:
Heat honey and butter in small, uncovered saucepan until mixture just comes to a boil; reduce heat.  Boil gently for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.  Stir in peanut butter until melted and well combined.

Step 3:
Pour peanut butter mixture over chocolate mixture in bowl.  Stir well to combine (chocolate will melt).  Firmly press mixture into prepared baking pan with a spatula or back of a spoon.  Cover; refrigerate until firm.  Cut into bars.  Store in a covered container in refrigerator for up to 1 week. 

Makes 32 bars

Nutrients per serving: about 100 calories, 2 g protein, 5 g fat, 12 g carbohydrate

Nestlé Kitchens Tip: To increase amount of omega 3 fats, try adding ¼ cup ground flax seed.
