Toffee Mini Tarts

Preparation: 20 min Chill: 1 hour

Who can resist these delectable clusters of nuts under a jewel-like toffee glaze? For extra convenience, use ready-made frozen tart shells.

 

 

 

You will need:

2 pkgs MACKINTOSH'S MACK Toffee candy, unwrapped 2
1/4 cup evaporated milk 60 ml
1 tbsp butter 15 ml
1 cup chopped pecans 250 ml
1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts 125 ml
1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds or pine nuts 60 ml
36 2-inch (5 cm) Mini Tart Shells, baked 36

Step 1:
Place toffee pieces in a 4 cup (1 L) microwaveable glass measure or bowl. Add evaporated milk and butter; microwave at High for 3 minutes or until bubbling vigorously. Stir until smooth. Stir in pecans, hazelnuts and almonds.

Step 2:
Spoon evenly into tart shells. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until filling is set.

Makes 36 tarts.

Nutrients per serving (per tart): 140 calories, 2 g protein, 10 g fat, 14 g carbohydrate

Tarts can be stored in single layer in airtight container and refrigerated for up to 1 week.
