Sugar Pie


Preparation:

This scrumptious sugar pie is perfect for satisfying those with a sweet-tooth.

 



 

You will need:

pastry for 9 inch (23 cm) single-crust pie
2 cups packed golden brown sugar 500 ml
3 tbsp all-purpose flour 45 ml
1 can (370 ml) regular evaporated milk 1
2 eggs, lightly beaten 2
1 tsp vanilla extract 5 ml
lightly whipped cream

Tools required:
9 inch (2 L) pie plate, baking sheet

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Combine brown sugar and flour in bowl; stir in evaporated milk, eggs and vanilla, mixing well. 

Step 2:
Place pie shell on baking sheet; fill with evaporated milk mixture

Step 3:
Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until set around edges but jiggles slightly in centre.  Let cool completely.  Garnish with whipped cream.

Nestlé Kitchens Tip: for pecan pie, stir 1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped pecans into evaporated milk mixture just before filling pie shell.
