Brie and Leek Tarts

You will need:

(pkg (120 g) brie cheese, cut into small cubes to fit inside tart shells |

Step 1:
Preheat oven to 375º F (190º C). Remove tart shells from packaging and place on a baking sheet.
Step 2:
Melt butter in frying pan, stir in leeks and garlic; sauté until leeks are tender (about 5-10 minutes). Stir in cream cheese until melted and mixture is well blended.
Step 3:
Season mixture with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. Divide cubes of brie evenly among tart shells; fill tart shells with leek mixture.
Step 4:
Bake tarts for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool slightly, then serve with a spring of thyme.

Nestlé Kitchens Tip: For a spicy version of the above recipe; add 1/4-1/2 tsp (1- 2 ml) of cayenne pepper to the filling mixture.
Good to Know: One cup of leeks is an excellent source of Vitamin C as well as a source of iron and fibre. One cup (250 ml) of raw chopped leeks contains 57 calories.
