Spring has sprung and it’s a great time to start thinking about some fun kids activities for the kids. Whether it’s indoor or outdoors, it’s the perfect time for an egg hunt. Here are a few tips to get you started.
1. Plan ahead
If you are planning to invite a few kids, send out invitations in advance. Stick with a spring theme and get your kids to help make some invitations- cut out in pastel coloured egg or duck shapes.
2. Colour code
If you are planning to have a wide age range of kids or adults, colour code according to age group so that all kids have a fair chance of finding the eggs. For older kids, you can hide the eggs in more challenging places and for younger kids, make them more accessible.
3. Decorate
Use pastel coloured table cloths and streamers to decorate. Get some colourful beach pails or baskets for kids to put their eggs in.
4. Be creative
While small chocolate eggs are always a great tradition, try some of the latest products like AERO, ROLO or TURTLES Eggs or fill plastic eggs with toys or beads and decorate eggs in glitter or stickers to jazz them up. Nestlé’s Egg Hunting Kit is perfect to get you started! Estimate approximately a dozen eggs per child.
5. Set Boundaries
Depending on how large or small your home is, it’s always a good idea to set boundaries. Whether it’s certain rooms in your home or a particular distance in your yard, this will help kids stay safe and prevent them from getting frustrated. Also cap the number of eggs per child so that no child gets left out.
