Sweeten up this holiday with these decadent entertaining tips.
Holidays are all about indulging, gathering and feasting with family and friends! Sweeten up your holiday celebrations with the latest trend for the season – the Decadent Dessert Party. Hosting has never been easier and with the limited time we have to plan, these indulgent get-togethers are sure to hit everyone’s sweet spot!
Wondering how to plan your own holiday dessert party? See below for some quick tips from Trend and Design expert Arren Williams.
1) Easy Invites – It’s becoming more and more acceptable, not to mention easy-peasy, to use Facebook or e-vites to gather guests together. But if you have the time, there’s nothing like a snail mail invitation to personalize and add a bit of nostalgia!
2) Bake and Fake – Try and bake at least one thing yourself (print off the recipe to give with the goody bag) then ‘cheat’ with bits and bobs from your local bakery.
3) Personal Bevvie Pairing – Pair desserts with coffeehouse quality beverages like lattes, espressos, or Americanos using an easy multi-beverage capsule system like the new NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO – guests will love the personal touch!
4) Theme It – Think about going all vanilla or all chocolate for your treats, or choosing a unique theme of your own, from holiday to New Year’s.
5) Say It With Napkins – Look for unusual patterns, they’ll always impress more than plain paper. And choose traditional holiday colours in rich solids or unexpected designs.
6) Sweet Variety – While some love the playfulness of a cream frosted cupcake, others prefer a healthier treat. Incorporate fruit as a natural dessert. Try chocolate covered strawberries or dip fruit in NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Chocolatier Chocolate Fondue! Offer a wide variety to keep things interesting.
7) Bite Size – No need for full cakes! Serve each dessert as a bite sized indulgence with pretty little forks. Guests can try every treat with out the guilt!
8) Brought to Tiers – Add some interest with height and if you don’t have tiered cake stands, try crazy gluing a flipped over bowl to the underside of a side plate – perfect!
9) Stations of Indulgence – Avoid crowding and set up your desserts at different locations throughout the room. This will also encourage mingling between guests
10) Grown Up Goodie Bags – There are only so many sweet treats one can enjoy in one sitting. Instead of letting extras go to waste, send guests home with their favourites in decorative boxes – parting doesn’t have to be sweet sorrow!
