What do I do if I can't find my favourite Häagen-Dazs® product? Häagen-Dazs® would like to have every location carry our entire product line. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case and we recommend that if you want to purchase a particular Häagen-Dazs® product, you should express interest to your local store. Are your products Kosher? The Canadian retail grocery, club and convenience store products are COR95D Kosher certified by the Kashruth Council of Canada. back to top Do you make low fat or fat-free products? Yes, all of the Häagen-Dazs® sorbet products are fat free. Banana Strawberry and Raspberry & Vanilla Frozen Yogourt bars are also fat free. Häagen-Dazs® products are best stored at home unopened at -18º C (0º F). For extended storage up to the "best before" date, a temperature of -23º C (-10º F) or colder is recommended where possible. back to top How do I know if my Häagen-Dazs® product is at its best quality? When kept at the recommended storage temperature, Häagen-Dazs® products are excellent through to the "best before" date found on the package. A "best before" date is found on the bottom of a tub or on the end flap of a bar carton. back to top How should I serve my Häagen-Dazs® products? To deliver the best flavour and texture, most Häagen-Dazs® products should be allowed to soften slightly before serving. Allow your products to soften at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes, depending on the actual room temperature and temperature of your freezer. back to top Can Häagen-Dazs® products be refrozen after they have been thawed? No. Because we make Häagen-Dazs® products in the most natural way possible, Häagen-Dazs® products should not be refrozen if thawed. Product thawing and refreezing can create large ice crystals causing an undesirable grainy or gritty texture, and diminished quality. back to top What types of garnishes can I add to ice cream to make it a more special dessert? A variety of chocolate decorations, fresh fruits, cookies, toppings or liquors may be added to a scoop of ice cream to create a more attractive presentation. Yes, Häagen-Dazs® Frozen Yogourt and Smoothies may be substituted for the same flavour of ice cream in recipes for a comparable result. Yes, there is alcohol in Häagen-Dazs® Bailey's® irish cream ice cream, because the product contains Bailey's® Irish Cream liquor. There are also trace amounts of alcohol present when vanilla extract is used however, these trace amounts are usually considered insignificant. back to top How do I stop ice crystals from forming in the ice cream? Keep the lid on the container tight, and do not leave the ice cream out at room temperature too long. After scooping out your serving, put it back in the freezer immediately. We recommend that you store ice cream at a temperature of at least -15º C. back to top Is Häagen-Dazs® gluten free? If there is "flour" listed in the ingredients on the product label, it contains gluten.
